We have now lived in our new apartment for about three weeks. It's exciting, strange, weird, fun, chaotic, messy and absolutely wonderful. All at the same time.

Yesterday my mom decorated some gigant gingerbread figures she's made. Really neat. <3

I got one piggy to hang up, so I hung it in the kitchen.=)

Weee, I got lots of mail in my "inbox" right now, and one long one (7 A4 pages!) on the way to my good pal in Slovenia. =)

I love to have all the good letters all together like that, it makes me want to write and write and write. Which I actually have been doing to day, LOL!

I will answer Sophie, Jacqueline, Marga, Jeanette, Alessandra, Rebecca and Carol over the coming weeks. Autumn is creaping up so it's an even greater time to be indoors writing letter while listening to music and such.

Candle lights for the victims

Today we had a minute of total silense at work, to honour the victims in the awful attacks.

We also light candles, one for every victim...

We arranged them as flowers. I think it was very pretty.

Not so much...

We had some thunder storms again last night, kept me awake for an hour or so. =S Blah. Wish for sun and warm summerlike weather. Miss those cousy summer days.

In another week it is time for summer vacation and I am sooo looking forward to some time off. Just for myself, together with Frode. Hope we will have a fantastic time even though both our plans had to be changed.

At first we were supposed to go to Femund National Park, but then came the year of True Lemmings which have led to hare plague in the waters and streams. It is unsafe to drink the water so then we decided to have a car trip vacation and camp by streams and lakes by the road, so we could buy food and water along the way.

Now a flood warning has been broadcasted in that area, actually in the whole eastern part of Norway. So our THIRD pland is to stay in the mountain cabin and relax there. Maybe go to Røros and Trondheim like last time we were there.

A good vacation I hope for no matter the weather. =)

Lamb albondigas fajitas

Succulent meatballs and tasty peppers wrapped up in a warm tortilla served with salsa and sour cream.

Ingredients
1 x Old El Paso Roasted Tomato & Pepper Fajita Kit
500g lean minced lamb
125ml sour cream
1 x red pepper, deseeded and cut into small chunks
1 x yellow or orange pepper, deseeded and cut into small chunks
1 x shredded lettuce
A bunch of spring onions, finely chopped
A small handful of chopped mint
A small handful of chopped coriander
A pinch of cayenne pepper
8 x skewers

Kit contains: 8 x Old El Paso Soft Salsa Tortillas, 1 x Old El Paso Roasted Tomato & Pepper Fajita Spice Mix, 1 x Old El Paso Roasted Tomato & Pepper Salsa

Instructions

1. Chuck the mince, spring onions, mint, coriander and the Old El Paso Roasted Tomato & Pepper Fajita Spice Mix in a large bowl. Mix together well and then shape into 40 small meatballs (rough size).

2. Thread the meatballs and peppers onto skewers, then grill or barbecue for 3-4 minutes each side until thoroughly cooked through. Remove from the skewers.

3. Meanwhile, mix together the sour cream with the mint and cayenne pepper, to taste.

4. Warm the Old El Paso Soft Salsa Tortillas, following the instructions on the pack, or cook on the barbecue or in a griddle pan for 20-30 seconds each side.

Make it your way

Grab some warm Old El Paso Soft Salsa Tortillas and throw on some lettuce, peppers and 5 meatballs on each. Finally spoon over the Old El Paso Roasted Tomato & Pepper Salsa and sour cream. Roll up into fajitas and get stuck in!

Today I finally went to the store to buy ink catridges for my ink pen, which I haven't used for some years now. First I looked in the shelf for them where they keep all their pens and equipment , but couldn't find any.

So I had to ask this young man, not a day over 20, if they had any. He thought for a while then said he might have seen some in the back. He looked a little stressed out honestly and looked inside a cupboard for a minute.

When he came back up he asked if I could wait a minute so he could ask the girl he worked with, and she told him loud and clear that they were in the cupboard behind the desk. So he went back there to look some more. He started to get really red the poor fella.

(my first ink pen. It's about 18 years old)

It was then I understood that silly old me had thought he would know what I was looking for, but he'd no clue what an ink catridge for a pen looked like!!! After I described it as a narrow bullet like thingie with blunt tip and see through plastic, he found it immediatly.

Funny story on a Monday, LOL.

Big moose was here! LOL!

The river is open now, but a couple of days ago it was packed with ice.

Erithacus rubecula or Red Robin as most people know it by.

Motacilla alba out hunting insects.

The shy Turdus merula came and paid us a visit this morning. Also known as the Blackbird. It sings really beautifully.

I actually don't know what this is, I need to look it up in a bird book.

A beautiful Pyrrhula pyrrhula was here with his female. This is pretty much a winter bird for me, but here they appear when spring comes.

The river is really low since they empty it in the spring, just before the flooding starts. I can see the river bed and all the rocks, it was really a special sight.

A stone church in Torsby - Sweden. I really am fascinated by churches so we had to stop and have a look at this one.

Easter isn't over so I will post more pictures when I can. =) Internet isn't that easy in the mountains where we are going tomorrow, so I won't promis anything before I'm back home.

A girl I used to work with had a grandfather whom was the shoe maker in Strømmen.

When he died they found shoes in his attick that was from the 50's and 60's.

I got to buy these red ones for 8 Euros. I really love them since they are so old and represent old Strømmen.=)

I seldomly think about the life of a blind person, other than when I see a leading dog.

Today I got mail from Norwegian organization for blind people, with the alphabet in dots. Never seen it before and got a little intrigued. It seems very hard to read a whole book by looking at these dots! WOW!

Have you ever thought about how you will keep penpaling if uou go blind? It would sure be really sad not to be able to penpal for my part.

We went to this huge aquarium store in Oslo today, I wanted to buy some new fish.

I have only a little aquarium of 70 litres, and about 20 fishes in different sizes and species. The new ones are the ones with red and stripes.

The yellow one sort of worked the camera and came on every picture I took. Such a diva fish! LOL! =)

Salmon With Mango Salsa

Today we made a new dish we'd never tried before.

Making Mango Salsa

Frying some pieces of fresh salmon.

Yum!! =) I give it 4 out of 6, Frode 6 og 6.

Recipe for two:
1 red onion
Half a cucumber
1 tomatoe
1 fresh red chilipepper (15 grams)
1 rape mango
1 lime
125 gram fresh salomon
Guacamole
Baby leaf spinach

Cut chili, onion, mango, tomatoe and cucumber. Squeeze lime juice onto the salsa and put it in the frigerator to relax for half an hour.

Fry the fish (add Fajita spice mix if you want) and serve with guacamole and spinach.

Bon Apetite! =)

Home Made Taco burgers

Today I made home made taco burgers for dinner today.

Recipe for two persons:
400 gram minced meat of pork
1 pack taco spice mix
Salad
Tomato
Onion
Garlic dressing

Blend the meat and spice mix in a bowl, with your hands. Make 2 big or two small buns which you squeez flat in the frying pan. Fry them a few minutes on each side til they are done.

Serve on darker hamburger breads with salad, tomato, rings of onion and some dressing.

Tip: make an even healthier dressing by making it yourself with sourcream and garlic. I love that!=)

Some pictures from the weekend in the mountains. On Saturday Frode, Jørn, Lars-Erik ( Frode's two half brothers) and myself went to Sweden. Here we tried Lars' snowmobile on the frozen lake. The weather was nice and sunny, but a little windy. =)

Me after riding the snowmobile. I forgot my driver glasses at home so I had nothing but pilot sunglasses to wear, LOL! Looks like I'm going to drive a MiG instead! =D =D

From the kitchen in the cabin we had this view, the mountain is called Sølen. A mountain that Frode and Jørn have hiked before. It was a painful trip that is glued to their memories. Mountains are nice but walkin on rocky hills isn't my thing so I pass on the next trip Frode wants to do. ;o)

On the way up to the cabin we saw some Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). It's not so common to see this far south in Norway but this was one of those rare occations and it was awsome and very strong as well. =) It came up over this mountain the dark so we could see the profile of the mountain, absolutely amazing.

It looks cold outside doesn't it? Not so much as a hint of spring in that area yet. But it's beautiful though. =) This weekend was also the last in this dog sledge race which is held every year. I saw one sled on the lake which you see on this photo, but I didn't get a good photo as we past them in the car.

The poor seagull

Almost every morning I have seen this poor seagull at the train station in Oslo. It has a limp foot that it uses the tip of. The foot is limp begause it has some tread or something wrapped tightly arond it. =(

It has survived yet another winter so I guess it manages most of it's business, but it won't be swimming very much this one. I just call it my seagull and my seagull as our souls meet every time I see it.

A beautiful day

Yesterday was a sunny and mild day so I figured I wanted to go snowmobiling by myself.

Me with my new helmet that I bought spring time last year. It is super comfortable and fits me better than my old one. =)

Well, after going about 80 km/h on the road I decided to play in the snow, but didn't get far I'm afraid. =P LOL! My snowmobile has short edges on the belt so it can get stuck pretty easily, depending on the cheufeur. I admit that I hesitated a bit which resaultet in me getting stuck.

I had to walk throght the deep snow and back to Frode to get him to help since I can't lift it myself. My goal is to get more muscles so I can lift it, that would be very nice. =)

That evening the sky caught fire over the neighbours house, it was truely amazing and I managed to get it on a picture for once. =)

We went to this aquarium store in Oslo which has very rich variety of fishes. They even have a black tip reef shark which grows up to 180 cm... Who buy that in Norway, really?

I love the sea water fishes, they are truely beautiful, like this blue one. Sorry about the blurryness, but it was my mobile phone camera and the fish wouldn't stand still. LOL!

Yesterday I got a very nice gift from my friend and pen pal in Canada. I love the socks with the cute dogs on! =) Thank you very much J. I wish you a Happy New year for yourself and your's as well. =)

I am currently up in the mountain area at my in-law's for the weekend. It's so relaxing, no house work waiting for me and I can do everything else that I like. I have some lettersets with me so I can answer the letters I have waiting. I also brought the book I am reading.

There is no fireworks in this area on New Years Eve so it will be a family dinner night - we'll have moose fondue. =)

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY!!!! Have a nice celebration and we'll catch up in 2011.

I agreed to exchange gifts with my Norwegian pen pal R. and she gave me all these nice things. =) Thank you R!

This alien looking thingie is an automatic stirrer. You just place it into the kettle with the sauce and turn it on (battery driven), and it stirs for me! Yey! =D This is one of the hottest gifts this year in these parts, I was going to buy one for someone and they were all sold out. =( The girl told me the boss had flown to England herself to pick someone up, still they had a waiting lits of 50!!

Frode's brother gave us two super cool snowmobiling films.

My boss' gave me two sets of these designer cutlery (12 persons).

My little sister gave us this super cool holder for our Dolce Gusto coffee tablets. =)

My parents gave both me and Frode a lap top pillow (we wished for it), but this was a little more fancy than we were hoping for! LOL! It's got a fan underneat and loud speakers on each sides. I love Logitec gadgets and this does not disappoint for sure. Soooo comfertable to sit with the lap top in the sofa (like I'm doing right now). =)

Now I'm gonna pack for our trip to my in-laws this weekend. I can hardly wait because she picked up her puppy today! =D A German Shepherd.

I am surounded by puppies these days as my boss has an Australian Kelpie at 8 months and my coworker just picked up her baby English staffordshire Bull Terrier a week ago. He is only 9 weeks old and such a cutie!! =)

Yule tradition

Decorating a ginger bread house is a tradition we have for Yule. This year I so cheated as I bought one at the food store, and attatched it myself... I know! It's not the same... But at least it feels like Yule and it sure smells like Yule. =)

I attatched it with home made caramell (melted sugar) from the oven pan.

I didn't like the tiles so I made some bigger ones. From a distance it looks great.

Honestly, I'm a disaster in the kitchen... I guess I'm just clumsy and it shows in this decoration, but I am happy anyway. It could have been worse... Right? =P

Frode is satisfied and as long as it tastes as good as it seem it'll be Yule this year as well. =)

I've already got my X-mas gift from Frode! A sowing machine! I sooo wanted one for years, but the prices have been a little too much. Then here the other day we went into this Coop store and I saw this one on a discount for the members.

It so happened that I had my mom's membership card beacuse she wishes for a woolen blanket for X-mas. Unfortunatly they were sold out of blankets that very day. =( But the trip wasn't wasteful when I got me this one. =)

I've already used it on two of my clothes to fix them. =)

I have even bought new training shoes for the first time in 13(!) years! LOL! I have already worn them 3 times, two times Frode and I have been out walking and one time I've been at this gym nearby my job.

I usually hate gyms as people often come there to check out men/ women, but this gym I go to now seems different and more like a regular gym. =) It pretty small and the people there seems nice,

not the crazy work out people or the newly divorced ones that are desperate to meet somebody new. ;o) So, I joined the gym and will try go there as often as I can. =P

Women are strange and scientists will try to figure out the weirdest things sometimes...

This is a case where the scientists have done some research on how we women like dancing, meaning dacing guys in this case. Well, you have some good dancers out there, but most of them are like the first one up on this animation video, take a looksee:

- variation in the dance movements in the neck area, upper body, left wrist and the most funny fact, the speed of the movement on the right knee! HAHA!

I have bought a new compact camera a Casio H-10 with 10x optical zoom, as I have so many times wished I could take closer shots. I am happy I got it when we visited the zoo, I got some good shots I think. =)

(The bird is actually laying on it's side with the wing out, to get as much as it can from the sun. Never seen anything like it, it was rather funny!)

A day at the butterfly park.

We stoped to fish a little in the sea on the way home and I was the only one to catch one; a mackerel! Weeee! I was sooo happy when I landed it (with a little bit of help as it was a big fighter). =) We took a couple of pics, got the hook out nice and gently and gave it its life back. =)

In the butterfly park we saw houndreds of butterflies and some as big as my finger! =D

This beautiful one is POISONOUS! If you eat this you'll actually DIE! I didn't know butterflies could be poisonous, did you?

Frode was lucky and got to hold a lizzard. He thinks they are funny and cute. =)

Me on the other hand thinks this is a true beauty. I was the only one of us three that held the Boa snake. =) Amazing creatures.

It wasn't exactly allowed to touch the butterflies in the park though, but this one kinda was a little willing to sit on my hand so I could take its picture. ;o)

It wasn't a big park but I had to chase this one around the park twice before it finally sat down so I could take its pic. =P LOL! It was worth it, what a beauty!

The trees were full of catepillars, big and actually beautiful. Yeah, I know I'm a little nerdy when it comes to insects and such... Hehe! But it is beautiful with all the nice stripes and colors. =)

The park also had some other snakes and amphibians, like the green snake (above) and the hornfrog (under). This frog sits still until a mouse, a spider or even a rat comes by and it just attacks and swallows! It had even bit the finger of the park owner once while he was showing it to some tourists. It has the bit of a pitbull so he had real trouble to get it off, he told us. =)

I will post pics from the day at the zoo later on. We did get some incredible shots of the wolf pack there, and even a video I will post. =)

Yesterday we went fishing in the forrest. Since I have bought a new compact camera I decided to take it out for a "test drive". =) Got some nice photos from the lake we fished in.

Frode is fixing his equipment on the side there. Where he stands there is a bog, what we call a "hanging bog" as it is really wobberly as you walk on it. It's kinda floating on the water. I don't like that kind of bog at all, but this one is okay, bacause I know it is safe now. =)

Beautiful water roses. I kept looking for the frog but I guess he had other business to attend to. ;o) Haha!

On the way back home I said to Frode: "It's a pitty we didn't see a moose since I brought the camera and all". I swear that as I was saying that Frode hit the break and pointed out the front window. "There!" he said. I was like wow, are you serious?!

Guess he was! =D I carefully got out of the car, crossed the road and walked between the trees to get as close as I could. At first I thougth it was one, but when i took the first photo I noticed another one coming out of the forrest.

We did get within 30 meters or so. It was only a small part of the pond in between us, and we were still right inside the forrest. They did see us but the wind was in our favour so they were very wary and kept looking in our direction to see what if we were any treat to them.

They decided that we were a little too close for their comfort so they started backing up.

Slowly at first...

Then running. Best to be safe. =)

It was a very cool experience. Moose are not rare in Norway but I only see a moose every 50th time we are in the woods, so the chances aren't that great. They are shy and they mostly walk about in the dawn or in the twilight. =)

Book heaven

I am in some really book-buying mood these days. After we bought three DVD shelves from IKEA, and got the DVDs out from the bookshelves, I had more room. Well, slightly more room that is beacause I had so many books here and there that they filled almost all the DVD space at once.

Anyway, I have read the Innocent Mage and the Awakened Mage by Karen Miller, and found out that she had a "third and fourth" book too, but those two are a new serie of two...

I don't know why she makes mini series of two books, even though The Prodigal Mage is taking place 10 years after Awakened Mage ended.

It is a fabulous world and a good story. =) I am very glad I'm "back in it" again.

The Last Stormlord is a book Frode found at our fave book store when we were in Oslo. It's commented by Karen Miller so I had to get it.

It's the first in a serie, hopefully not one of 10 -15 books beacause I tend to think that is a little overkill. 5- 7 books is perfect. =)

Frode and I decided to meet up in Oslo when I was done at work. It's been a cloudy day with some rain, but the air is very hot and humid. Like we could expect a thunder storm.
After eating some pizza at this restaurant we like, we just walked around talking, and ended up walking to the new opera house by the sea. It's big and very different from any bulding I have ever seen.

Very interesting chapes and angles, and the way up to the roof is like a steep hill without steps. Just white stone tiles/ blocks... The view was good though. =)

Oslo is rather ugly city really, nothing much to see but a very special atmosphere. Here you see people from every corner of the world, with all sorts of believes and lifestyles. Good and bad, side by side.

Some art they've put on outside the train station. I get the one to the left, but the one to the right I can't exactly put into place...

Finally I'm having a week of summer vacation. We are planning on fishing tomorrow, movies next week, and then a road trip to the southern parts. If the weather allow us that is. We've had some rain the past few days. =)

My father bicykled this bicykle race yesterday, and did finish it!:-D It's 190km long, a little more than I said in my last post, and I'm very proud of him.:-)

We got to visit this motor shop in Lillehammer, finally, and I got a new helmet for next snowmobile season! Yey!!:-D

It was on sale for half the price, so I am really happy anout that.

I also got matching goggles, that's a bit funny.:-D

I'm at work stealing a moment to post something. At home we still have no internet, it really makes me understand how my world is build up around it... I feel completely naked, like I've forgotten my phone when I go to work. =S

This weekend I was at the cabin with my in laws, which was really nice. Weather sucked but it was cozy indoors.=) We had some guests over on Saturday for some drinks, that was fun.

Today I'm soaked at work with some new web designs and pages to look at. I am the error finder with hawk eyes which has proven to be much fun really. =)

This weekend I'm going to drive to Lillehammer (170km) to get dad to the start line at this bicycle race back to Oslo. He is amazing being over 50 and bicycling 170km. I would probably die (literally) after one! =D I'm in such a bad shape... Note to myself: need to work that out. ;o)

Will be back when my internet company finds out what they have been doing wrong. =P Or if I can steal another moment one day.

My vacation

We started off on Sunday May 23 into the wilderness of the forrest north from Oslo. We've never been there and did not know what to expect. Here Frode is reading the map at the second camp we made. (He also made dinner for both of us on the portable kitchen).

We did get a little bit of rain, some clouds, a thunder storm and one windy night. Still we "survived" 4 days without any fish.

The only fish we saw was jumping out of the water waving at us...

We did manage to walk the wrong way the first day, instead of a 2km walk, we ended up with 6km. With a steep road uphill before we made first camp.

Second day we had a nice walk, until we crossed blue path, which was torture really. =( Boy was I glad when we made next camp, we stayed there for two nights.

We did find a sofa in the woods by a lake... Not very normal really, so I had to catch a picture of that.

After returning home we got out to another area to the east instead. We've been there so we knew what we expected, just no the weather and luck in fishing... We had beautiful weather with sun and a beautiful sunset as you can see in the picture.

Frode caught the first 3 fishes and I didn't get any. The next day we headed for another lake to fish some pike. Instead I ended up fishing for perch with worms. I got one fish at first, which I let out again. Then I got another, but as I was reeling in a big pike came and swallowed it!! I was a little shocked although I knew it could happen it kinda took me by a surprise anyway.

I had the pike (and the other fish which was the one hooked) on for like 15 minutes. I had regular string without any metal infront for pike fishing, so it ended like I knew it would, I lost both. But it's a good fishing story and I was shaking all over from the reeling and running to keep it out of the logs in the water. =)

The nest day I used a different kind of line to make sure I was safe if another pike was stealing my fish. Instead I ended up with a huge perch! Do I look happy or what?! =D

The perch was released into the water again. I love eating perch but one this sized can be poisonous because of the amont of lead it collects in it...

The trout on the picture above was also one I got after Frode caught a smaller one at the beginning ( the same happened with the perch). That one is a rainbow trout and we did kill it and made dinner at the bonfire that night. It tasted heavenly. =)

Suddenly summer struck in on Friday, but today's been the warmest so far. :-) Can hardly belive it's almost a tropical night! Hope the heat holds throughout our vacation.:-)

We are preparing for our vacation beginning next weekend already. We will be heading for the forrest and connect with Mother Nature for two weeks. =) I love being out camping, although we are a little concerned about the weather. We 've had a couple of frost nights this week, and today it's overcast...

We will be fishing our own meals and I'm not pro hurting fishes too much therefor I like flyfishing all the more. =) I've made some small ants in brown and black and some nymphs that go underwater.

Thanks to all the suggestions, I like them all!

The reason why I have chosen Pokey is that it describes the snail in more than one way: if it's inside it's house and you touch it or lift it up, insdead of staying protected inside the house it comes out to have a looksee! Like "hey, what's going on out there?" Not very clever when you are one of the main dishes for a lot of animals. So SLOW is a perfect description.

I am sorry for the few post I have posted on this blog this year. My soul just isn't feeling very good, and hasn't for about a months time.

Things aren't what they should be and I feel like a train just run me over.

I hope deep in my heart that I will come out strong and not so hurt in the end, but right now I feel like the world is very sad place to be. Even when the sun is warming this day up outside this very moment...

I am sad because someone took a piece of my heart and shattered it badly. Someone I care deeply for, but doesn't seem to care anything for me.

Sorry for the sad post, I just felt like giving you an explanation and a reason why my posts have been a little "off".

Last Sunday Frode and I went to this book store in Oslo (http://www.outland.no/). They sell English books and comic books, mostly fantasy. It's our fave book store really.

I ended up buying the first book in the serie KingMaker KingBreaker, which I got recomended by one of my pen pals. I am eager to start reading it, but first I have to finish the Cronicles of Narnia. Really good reading for those who are Narnia fans, like myself. :o)

Vampire books are very in these days. I have two series by Karen Miller and wanted some short stories to read. I bought By Blood We Live and Frode Wastelands, as he's a fan of apocalytic stories.

I LOVE the fact that I have a reading hubbie, and he also read big English books with no pictures in it. :oD We like similar books as well, so we have actually discussed books like our little book club! Kinda geeky, but we love it very much. ;o)

Frode really wanted this book, and after I took a look in it I also became a HUGE fan. It has info about basicly everything! I mean EVERYTHING! :oD

We went up to Frode's half brother's in-laws for the weekend. :-) Me and the cat relaxed very much on Saturday.;-)

I got to be an auntie for my three months old nephew Odin, is't he just adorable. On Sunday he was baptised in a small, intimous church.:-)

We made four big pizzas on Saturday as we were 9 adults an one 12 year old living together for the weekend. Full house!:-D It was very nice actually.

We have quiet some snow now, still it's windy and snowing horizontal...

I'm going to tan today because we are having a photoshoot at work tomorrow, and we all need to dress in light(!) colours. Not the brightest idea midwinters so I will tan so I look normal white and not like ghostly white.;-)

But I'd rather stay at home in this weather... -8 + wind = freezingly cold

Is it Friday 13th today or something?

I woke up this morning and took a shower, everything seemed normal. I grabed my purse and headed for the bus stop. On the bus I figured out that I had forgotten to bring my ear plugs for my iPhone with me, so I couldn't listen to the new CD I dowloaded (from iTunes, no stealing), My winter storm by Tarja.:oS

I read my book on the way so I wasn't bored exactly. I got off in Oslo and went to the next bus stop there. I have to chance busses on the way as I work on the other side of Oslo, sort of. But that's okay. The next bus leaves at 07:31am and I saw the red bus appear and the people I see every day on the bus gather themselves around the bus, so I went inside, sat down and opened my book again. After 15 min. I looked up to get a glimse at where I was so i didn't miss my stop.

The surroundings didn't look familiar at all! I looked at the sign at the bus and I was deffinitly on the wrong one!! Oh, NO! How the hell did that happen?:oO I'd never seen this bus at the bus stop before and certainly not at the same time as my bus are leaving.

So there I was at least on the travel in the right direction so far. I had to get off at the wrong hill and then call a cab from there. People had a big laugh at my job when they heard. At least I was no less than 30minutes late, and I had used 2 hrs and 15 minutes to get there alltogether. :oP

My bad luck must have been something trasmittable because Frode also got a portion of it today. We'd a snow fall for a few days and finally the city hall had gotten the men to remove the snow from most roads and sidewalks. What a luxury. :o) Well, the down side is that they remove too much snow at the wrong places sometimes...

Frode drives my car and suddenly he hears a loud noise. Both tires on the left is suddenly punktured! :oO He had managed to drive upon a concrete edge! So he had to call a friend to get him to work, then I had to call my sister to ask very nicely for new tires for a sisterly price. She was very sweet at fixed it for us. :o)

I hope this day ends nicely without more bad luck. ;o)

What's up in my life? Not that much, had some problems with my internet conection (again), but it seems all sorted out by now. Phew! I hate not having the web available. No e-mailing, no reading papers, no blogging and no fun really. The world has surely changed since I was a kid, huh?

Frode has been offered a new job today. He only works as a substitute so he needs to get a steady job. The one he is offered is a shift manager position at a Hitachi storage building. That's doesn't sound bad at all, the downside however is that it is night shifts!:oO Monday till Thursday 3am to noon. So I basicly won't see him at all for 4 days, but have Friday, Saturday and Sunday together. Well, half the Friday as I am at work while he is not. And if he works nights I doubt he will be any use being up in the weekends, it will be like he is awake at the wrong hours. :oS Big decision to make...

I have been reading these books by Karen Chance, my very first vampire books to be honest. I liked the voer on Touch the Dark so I bought it and fell in love with it after reading half the book. The intro is somewhat hectig because so much happen all at once. But after a while I was hooked. :o)

Starring Cassandra Palmer human with a very spesial ward tattooed on her back. The ward is a herritage from her mom who died in a "car accident" when she was a little girl. She is brought up by vampires, by one powerful vampire Tony and his "slaves". One other master vampire has also had his influence on her; Mircea.

He ha put a powerful spell on her that she needs to remove before she goes mad with love for him. Or is it the spell that causes her feelings? I leave it up to you to find that out yourselves. ;o)

One thing is for sure, Mircea is one true gentleman and I sure have fallen in love with him! :oD

The story takes place mostly in Las Vegas at a very special hotel called Dante. There you can meet vampires, mages, demons, gargoyls and other magial creatures. Not all of them are friends all the time...

We bought a new HD TV today.

Since I got extra money on this paycheck, we decided to buy a HD TV on sale. After hours at two shops we stood between a 40" Samsung LED TV or a 42" LG LCD. LED TVs have awsome picture quality, but we want to wait and see what will come to the marked within the next year.

This is a picture I took of Frode playing Call Of Duty. This TV is not HD and 32".

This is the TV today!! :-D It's the LG, not LED, a tough decision as it is a lot of money even on sale. The colors are much better and movies looks almost like live cams.:-)

A real X-mas miracle and my mail.

Yesterday I arrived at home to have the weekend here before heading off for work again on Monday. When I came home I had got 4 envies during my week off, two from my dear friend in The Netherlands, one from a Finnish pen pal and one swap from a Norwegian swapper. A good catch I think. :o)

Above you can see the parcel I got from my Hollandish friend, a lot of nice stuff. I will send her parcel off on Monday or Tuesday. :o)

Then the X-mas miracle... :o)
I rent an apartment from a family of 5. I live downstairs (in the basement) with Frode, and they have the rest of a huge house for themselves. It works pretty fine for all of us, and the apartment is very cheap for the standard and the placement on the map. :o)

Every year I give them a box of chocolate since it is a gift for the whole family, also the kids (age 6, 13 and 16). While I was there I saw a Norwegian Forest cat walk by and I was a little surprised, as I know they have thee dogs as well (Chinese Crested, King Poodle and a Chihuahua). Then they told me they also have two rats, but the mom in the house is really reacting on them with allergies.:oS

They were thinking of giving them away, hopefully to somebody they know so the kids can go see them once in while. But giving away rats are difficult as so many have negative feelings towards them. I do not on the other hand, and I told them that I have had rats in the past, and that on Monday 14th we were looking at rats at a pet shop and I really miss having them as pets.

So the Christmas miracle is that I got the rats I wished for, and they got to give away the rats to someone they know, as they wished for! What a miracle indeed! :oD The kids were happy that they are so close to them. :oD

The one on my arm is the shy girl, and doesn't have a name yet. She is "mine" and I need to work with her to get her to trust me more. :o)

is "Frode's" and is the very curious and speedy one. She is all over the place and is so playful. I belive we can teach her some tricks, which will be so cool. :o) Her name is "Musa" which means mouse in Norwegian. ;o) LOL!

Rats are pretty misunderstood creatures, I know they bring illnesses like the Black Plague and such, but as tame rats they are pretty clean beings. They are just like a guinea pig or a hamster, just a 10 more brighter and a tad more curious beings. :o) And they are a lot more cleaner than any hamster I have known.

Today I will go and buy them food and candy, like nuts, cheese, salad, corn, egg and more.:o)

We drove over the mountain area of Femund national park, and in what we call the blue hour. This was taken between two lakes called Isterfossen, the water flowes more here so it doesn't freeze up.

The fog is ice fog from the water, the atmosphere was truely magical.

As you can see it was pretty cold where we stopped. The shoes make funny squeeking noices when you walk outside.
